November 2011 - Got a Dog & Moved to Wyoming
In November we moved to Gillette, Wyoming because Chris got a job as an attorney doing land use law. We had planned on being in Utah for 2 weeks, but ended up being there for 2 months while we waited to get into our house. It was wonderful to spend so much time with family.
On our way to Gillette we picked up our new family member, Kota. He's a Shiba Niu (a Japanese bread). His name was Oakley before we got him, but we wanted to give him a Japanese name. He's named after Kota Kiriyama, a Japanese Professional Bass Fisherman (thanks to Chris).
We love our new dog and we love Gillette, although we miss Minnesota like crazy.
Halloween in Utah - Claire 13 months, Catie almost 3
Catie was originally very excited about dressing up as a giraffe. However, her fascination with princesses began just a few days before Halloween. At my parent's Ward Halloween Party she cried the entire time. She pointed at all of the girls dressed as princesses and said, "My crown. My dress." (She also cried because she wanted to keep the fishing pole that was part of one of the carnival games.) So we modified her costume before trick-or-treating and she became a Giraffe Princess, which she was absolutely thrilled about. Then it was only a matter of teaching her that running into people's houses is not a part of trick-or-treating. She had the time of her life.
